Settling In and Exploring Our InterestsThe preschool children have been settling well into their new routines and environment. As they grow more confident and comfortable, we’ve noticed some clear emerging interests—especially a shared love for animals! Who knows, we may have some future veterinarians in our group! To extend and nurture this interest, we’ve been exploring a variety of animals and their habitats through stories, play, and sensory experiences. So far, we’ve enjoyed The Jungle – learning about bugs and crittersThe Arctic – discovering polar bears, penguins, and other Arctic animalsThe Ocean – exploring sea life and underwater creaturesThe Farm – meeting familiar animals and learning about their rolesWoodland Animals – understanding the creatures we might find closer to homeWe’ve used a range of sensory trays and themed play to solidify our learning and encourage language development. Storytelling has been a big part of our play, with children retelling stories and creating their own animal adventures. It’s been wonderful to watch their curiosity grow and their imaginations take flight!
