Carly the Poppies room leader is organizing a muddy puddle walk in the grounds of the nursery to raise money for Save the Children. This will be held on Tuesday 24th of April.
All the children are invited regardless of days attended and all parents/carers are welcome too.
Come and join the fun. For times and further information please see Carly in the Poppy room.
Throughout April the children will continue with our regular activities including singing, sport, dance and drama.
If you’re looking for something new to do at home why not try making ginger bread men.
The staff here at Meadows would like to wish all our parents and children a very merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all back here in the new year. It’s been a very busy year for all staff and children, with welcoming hello’s to new faces and sad goodbyes to some of the older ones on their new adventures. Here are just some of the things we have been up to ready for christmas
Look at the work the children (with the help of Lisa) have done transforming an outdoor area into a hive of activity for digging, planting and growing and a dinosaur garden. If you look in the corner, you can see the bug hotel, we now await new arrivals!!
We have been growing some tomatoes in the garden and they are now growing really big. We have been looking at them closely this morning and have noticed some baby tomatoes starting to grow!
Our sunflowers have been growing really tall and now have lovely flowers on the top.
Today we have been playing in the sensory tray. We used rice and pasta to make a pretend birthday cake. We used long pieces of pasta to stick in the top to make candles!
This morning we have been using our fingers to paint with, look at our lovely finger paintings! We used lots of colours to make them nice and bright and mixed some colours together to create new colours.
We have been looking at different textures this week. We have been looking at lots of different objects and describing the texture of them. We used soft fluffy material to make somewhere for our dinosaurs to play. We used the green material for the grass, the grey material for the mud and the blue material for the water. We had lots of fun pretending the dinosaurs were going swimming and playing in the park!
The weather has been lovely this week and lots of the children have enjoyed playing in the paddling pool and playing with the water hose! We have done lots of water based activities this week to help us stay cool. We have also been learning about how important it is to stay safe in the sunshine.
